Celebrate Independence Day the Comfort way on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in beautiful Comfort, Texas!
The day begins at 9:30 AM with our adorable children’s bicycle parade, followed by the beloved small-town Independence Day Parade through Comfort’s Historic District. Enjoy a festive lineup of antique cars and trucks, creative floats, gleaming fire engines, motorcycles, and spirited bicyclists bringing red, white, and blue to life.
After the parade, head over to Comfort Park where the celebration continues from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Savor classic favorites like hot dogs and hamburgers, plus chips and all the fixings. Be sure to stop by the pie contest—just $10 to enter! Whether you’re competing or sampling, it’s guaranteed to be a sweet highlight of the day. Browse a variety of vendor booths, enjoy live entertainment, take part in the silent auction, and let the kids cool off with family-friendly games featuring water guns, water balloons, and fun prizes.
Once the park festivities wrap up, make your way back downtown to explore Comfort’s charming local shops—each one a welcoming, air-conditioned escape filled with unique finds and friendly faces.

Picnic lunch tickets are available for pre-purchase at the Comfort Chamber office or can be purchased at the park beginning at 10:30 AM. Be sure to watch for our roaming cart during the parade—you can grab your tickets on the go!

Comfort 4th of July Art Contest
USA Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom: Brushstrokes of the Hill Country
As part of the annual 4th of July celebration in Comfort, Texas, “Brushstrokes of the Hill Country” invites artists of all ages to showcase their creativity and patriotism. This special community art event celebrates 250 years of freedom, offering participants the opportunity to win 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Honorable Mention. Winning pieces will be proudly displayed during the town’s Independence Day festivities.
All submissions—whether delivered in person or sent digitally—must be received by May 14, 2026. Entries are open to a wide range of age groups, including Kindergarten–2nd Grade, 3rd–5th Grade, 6th–8th Grade, 9th–12th Grade, and Adult.
Artwork size requirements vary by category. Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade should submit pieces sized 8” x 10”, while high school students may submit artwork up to 16” x 20”. Adult submissions may range from 8” x 10” up to 24” x 36”.
In addition to traditional artwork, adults are also invited to enter a photography category. A $10 entry fee is required for each adult submission.
